Singapore has grown into a powerful city-state with a robust economy, aiming to confront Chinese belligerence, aggressiveness, and neo-colonialism around the world. Singapore’s most recent example of tightening the screws on China was the negotiation of a substantial and perhaps unprecedented free trade pact with Latin American countries such as Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru.
