China is responsible for the majority of cyber-attacks and is motivated primarily by a desire for commercial secrets and the pursuit of political goals, reported a Canada-based thinktank, International Forum for Rights and Security (IFFRAS).
The country has launched cyberattacks on businesses, universities, government agencies, think tanks, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
According to an evidence-based US report, Chinese hackers have not only infiltrated US businesses and international human rights organizations but have also carried out operations to steal American intellectual property.
Previously, in July 2021, the United States and its allies condemned China for malicious cyberattacks, including the hacking of Microsoft Exchange email server software in early 2021, which compromised tens of thousands of computers worldwide. According to the think tank, the Microsoft hack affected at least 30,000 US organizations, including local governments and entities worldwide.
