According to Kaspersky, the new MoonBounce malware can survive computer antivirus programs. A Chinese-linked espionage group is suspected of being behind it.
Kaspersky’s cybersecurity researchers have discovered a new type of malware that is capable of bypassing standard security protection, such as antivirus software.
Experts say it is impossible to erase, even when formatting or replacing a hard disk. The latest discovery also revealed that APT41, a Chinese-linked espionage group that the government funds, was behind the security danger.
The MoonBounce malware is thought to be controlled by the APT4 espionage group. The Chinese government is apparently tied to this group of cybercriminals.
